It was hard to keep our feet on the ground on this one.
Red Bull is the proud sponsor of the Austrian Hockey League team EC Red Bull Salzburg.
To celebrate the start of the new hockey season, Red Bull commissioned Eallin to create 35 separate 10-second animated films for their online channels and 10 films for projections at the stadium during the live ice hockey matches.
The project’s main challenge was the timing, as all the films had to be completed within a tight 8 month production window, including all the concept development, animation and post-production. This was specifically challenging, as the films were all hand animated by our 2D team!
The project was won by Eallin Bratislava after completing a vigorous international pitching process. This was in part due to the experience and cell animation expertise in our Bratislava studio which has the capacity for large-scale projects such as these, including 16 senior 2D animators working on this production alone!
The campaign centers around showcasing illegal hockey maneuvers in a humorous way, educating hockey fans by being both on brand and familiar as well as fun and shareable.
All of the films were directed by the talented young Eallin director Lukas Glaser under the supervision of our Slovakian executive producer Jozef Lipa. The design development was undertaken by the Austrian creative company Robert Rottensteiner GmbH.
